His debut<\/strong><\/h5>

N\u00e9 en 1971 \u00e0 Nancy et ancien \u00e9l\u00e8ve des Beaux-Arts, Julien Chazal est tr\u00e8s t\u00f4t devenu artiste ind\u00e9pendant. Install\u00e9 \u00e0 Paris depuis 1997, il a enseign\u00e9 la calligraphie latine de mani\u00e8re r\u00e9guli\u00e8re (cours et stages).
En 2002, il cr\u00e9e \u00e0 Nancy une association de calligraphie latine toujours tr\u00e8s active, Apex, o\u00f9 il invite chaque ann\u00e9e des calligraphes de renomm\u00e9e internationale. Il a \u00e9t\u00e9 professeur invit\u00e9 en 2007 \u00e0 l’\u00c9cole sup\u00e9rieure des Beaux-Arts de La R\u00e9union, a anim\u00e9 des stages \u00e0 Turin (Italie), Li\u00e8ge et Namur (Belgique), Montr\u00e9al (Qu\u00e9bec) et en Guyane.<\/p>

De nombreuses entreprises font appel \u00e0 lui pour ses talents novateurs et cr\u00e9atifs : Boucheron (joaillier), Ungaro (\u00e9v\u00e8nementiel), Agn\u00e8s b. (mode), la banque Rothschild, l’Or\u00e9al, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, FNAC, Flammarion, Chaumet, Balenciaga, Shiseido, Moncler et autres r\u00e9f\u00e9rences du luxe et de la mode.<\/p>

International publications<\/h5>

In 2001, he was published by \u00c9ditions Alternatives with Un Matin sur Babel, un Soir \u00e0 Manhattan<\/em>, en collaboration avec l’\u00e9crivain Michel Sauquet. En 2005 et 2006, il assure la publication bi-mensuelle d’une revue consacr\u00e9e \u00e0 la calligraphie latine, L’Art de l’\u00c9criture<\/em>published by Fabbri, in 50 booklets.
March 2012 saw the publication of Calligraphie, le Guide Complet<\/em>, aux \u00e9ditions Eyrolles, qui retrace plus de 15 ann\u00e9es de pratique p\u00e9dagogique. L’ouvrage a \u00e9t\u00e9 traduit en plusieurs langues, \u00e9dit\u00e9 en 2013 aux \u00c9tats-Unis (Calligraphy, the Complete Guide<\/em>), en Chine en 2015, en Espagne en 2017 et au japon en 2024. Bien d\u00e9buter en Calligraphie<\/em> was published by the same publisher in 2013, as well as MailArt & Calligraphie<\/em>, It contains a large number of envelopes sent to him by calligraphers from all over the world. Lettres & Ornements Gothiques<\/em> will be published by Eyrolles in 2017.<\/p>

Constantly evolving<\/h5>

Pendant plus de 10 ans depuis 1996, il a particip\u00e9 aux \u00abRencontres Internationales des Doigts Noirs\u00bb pour travailler de nouvelles formes exp\u00e9rimentales de calligraphie latine contemporaine. Il continue d’exposer r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement en France et \u00e0 l’\u00e9tranger. Entre pratiques artistiques et p\u00e9dagogie inventive, son travail se renouvelle constamment.<\/p>

Worldwide recognition<\/h5>

Aujourd’hui reconnu comme l’un des meilleurs calligraphes d’Europe, Julien Chazal participe activement \u00e0 des projets internationaux (comme Lyuba<\/em>, le b\u00e9b\u00e9 Mammouth) et ne cesse de d\u00e9velopper ses recherches dans une vari\u00e9t\u00e9 de techniques telles que la gravure lapidaire ou le m\u00e9tal d\u00e9coup\u00e9.
